What’s summer without a good old rap beef Twitter spat? Early Saturday morning, Meek Mill and Joe Budden had a back and forth exchange on social media over recent comments Budden made on the Philly rapper’s relationship with Nicki Minaj.

On episode 20 of his I’ll Name This Podcast Later, Joe Budden took time to give his thoughts on Meek’s role in his relationship with Nicki Minaj. The Slaughterhouse MC felt Meek Mill’s music is too hard for him to publicly display a new softer side of a man that’s in love.

Part of my problem with that is that Meek’s music is too hard,” said Budden. “Meek’s music is too hard for me to look at him with this fu**ing sappy f**k sh*t. Be the hardcore guy that I’m sure she was attracted to at some point. It’s nasty. I hate everything about it. I’m glad a dark-skinned guy is behaving this way. Light-skinned ni**as, we’re not moving like that. Light-skinned guys, we’re used to getting the bad b*tch. He’s like this bitch just stepped off a fu**ing Mars and is the only girl. Oh my God, I just hate it all. But I do appreciate them both keeping the hope of love alive.”

The comments, which soon made news online, caught the attention of the MMG rapper on Saturday morning. Taking to Twitter, Meek Mill responded to Joe’s comments, calling Budden a “noodle” and reminiscing a time he brought Budden on stage during an NYC concert. Joe Budden quickly responded, warning Meek Mill that wouldn’t want to take this dispute to the music.

Nicki Minaj later jumped in the action, tweeting “Why would you be bothered by another man showing love to his girl? Let’s celebrate black love. All the best w/ur podcast. All jokes aside.”
