New York City’s top music magazine, The FADER and Sprite partnered with rap visionaries to create four documentary shorts.

Today, the two brands revealed the trailer of the docu-series, starring Nas, Drake, TDE’s Isaiah Rashad, and recent XXL’s 2015 Freshman, Vince Staples. Sprite has been an ally of to the hip hop culture since 1986. A good example is when Sprite featured Kurtis Blow in a national television commercial. This year, the latest evolution of its Obey your Thirst® campaign tells the stories of hip-hop superstars and emerging talent with a series of documentaries made in partnership with The FADER.

Over the next few weeks, The FADER will roll out profiles of Nas, Drake, Vince Staples, and Isaiah Rashad, all artists that bring something different to the culture. The docu-series will support the “Obey Your Verse™” Lyrical Collection, which is covering Sprite cans with legendary lyrics from Drake, Nas, Biggie, and more throughout the summer.

“Just rapping is not that impressive anymore,” Drake says in the above series trailer. “There just has to be more. You have to be a multi-layered artist.” If that’s true, the docs show that this kind of complex potential can come from anywhere, if you just commit to yourself. “Everybody got a purpose, and you gotta find yours,” says Vince Staples. “Just go for it.”
