April 25th, 2015 a protest and a riot occurred due to another unexplained death of another African American Man, who passed on April 19,2015. While in police custody "Freddie Gray" eventually pass's of his fatal injuries, in which he obtained a week prior while in custody. Causing Injuries to his Spine and Larynx, Freddie never regains consciousness after several surgical attempts.
The circumstances in which the injury was occurred has not been determined. However, six police officers have been suspended with pay while pending this investigation! Prior to Freddie's death peaceful protests were organized. Since Freddie's peaceful funeral that was held on April 27th, at 11a.m., At New Shiloh Baptist Church, a frustrating rage had sparked up. At least 20 police officers have been injured, 250 people have been arrested, thousands of police and National Guard troops have been deployed for a "State Of Emergency" which was declared on the city of Baltimore.
Protest were organized in downtown Baltimore, and the protesters Marched from Baltimore City Hall to Inner Harbor. After the official protest event some people highly agitated became violent and damaged a lot of Baltimore's property. Mayor [Stephanie Rawlings-Blake], said most protesters were respectful but their were a small group of agitators whom intervened. [J.M. Giordano], a photographer from "Baltimore City Paper" was taking pictures when he was beaten by two police officers in riot gear. [Sait Serkan Gurbuz] another photographer with visible press credentials filmed the beating from a public sidewalk was also shortly detained. Later released and cited for disorderly conduct. City paper published the video on it website! A "purge" was called on social media to begin at Mondawmin Mall while police waited in high riot gear. 75 to 100 people appeared to be high school students threw bricks, bottles, etc. at the officers. Police cruisers were destroyed a CVS Pharmacy was looted in burned even setting a Curfew.
West Baltimore being heavily affected by rioting and damage "Gov. Larry Hogan" thanks those in the area for their help of cleaning up the community! Another incident going viral was a mother who beat her son on TV for throwing rocks at the police. Baltimore Police Commissioner [Anthony Bates], praise's mother "Toya Graham" who pushed and hit her son in order to prevent him from participating in the rioting!
Volunteers numbering in the hundreds were seen cleaning up debris from the rioting in the area in which Freddie Gray was arrested, police blocking off some of the area to assist in the cleanup!
As Humans Are we frustrated? Yes! Destruction is healing what?? in the process! We can only grow stronger in unity by setting aside differences, coming together and lifting up our communities. We can't keep attaching ourselves to stereo typical ignorance thats expected, but instead do the unexpected! United, lets stand in a positive peace for Baltimore Durttyzzz!
